In-Quest - Destination: Pyroclasm
This Belgium band started as a grindcore formation in the early 1990's using the name 'System Shit'. In 1995 they had the felt about getting serious, and changed the name to In-Quest.
In 2000 In-Quest released the album 'Operation:Citadel'. Due to financial problems with the record label the album didn't get the promotion it needed and some of the members left the band. It took some time to find a replacement, but in mid 2002 Sven (Leng Tch'e, Aborted) combined forced with the other In-Quest members.
After that things went quite well, and the next album was released, 'Destination: Pyroclasm'.
I have to admit something here. I'm not someone who can listen hours to one and the same CD. After listening it two times, I have to listen something else. At least, that's what it used to be. This album has been in my discman for 2 straight weeks, an album featuring four tracks. Sounds impossible, but it's true.
In-Quest is, in my opinion, one of the most advanced bands in the daily death metal scene. Creating such a futuristic atmosphere where annihilation is near, isn't something every band is able to do.
I have no idea how to describe the crushing blastbeats, ear-piercing guitar solos and grinding vocals. I just did it. Still, I need a thousand more words to describe all the different sides of this band, the album never gets bored, not a single second, and these guys are really brutal and pissed off. No doubt.
The last lines: I don't think any band will come with stuff like this in the next future years, as original, perfectly produced and bashing as In-Quest - Destination: Pyroclasm.
Put on your gasmask and get your hands on this fine piece of masterwork.
